VII. European Ex-libris Congress, Vienna, Austria,
7–10 July, 1960

The seventh congress – the second to take place in Austria – was chaired by Hugo von Balzar with the energetic collaboration of Marein Bock, Paula Schindler and Dr. Anna Lerperger. Various lectures were given (Hans Laut, "European Bookplates", Gerhard Kreyenberg, "Familiar Graphics", Otto Hurm, "Eric Gill – Rudolf von Larisch – Rudolf Koch", Hans Ankwicz-Kleehoven, "Austrian Ex-musicis", Gianni Mantero, "Design of Work-Lists") and there was a historical retrospective of Polish ex-libris, and an exhibitions of modern bookplates of the Cossmann school. A visit to the Wachau rounded off the programme. Ex-libris exchanges however, were the main activity of most of the participants to the congress.
