Geological upheaval and change over time have resulted in Sichuan's breathtakingly beautiful and rugged terrain. Sichuan is known as the 'Land of Abundance' .Visitors to this province can experience a wide variety of beautiful landscapes. It is also a cultural corridor of harmony in China between east and west, as well as north and south. Civilization along the Yangtze and Yellow Rivers has fostered the many rich, strange and wonderful cultures of Sichuan.
Chengdu is the capital of Sichuan and is the cultural and industrial center for the agricultural Chengdu Plain. Chengdu was one of the first centers of printing in China and has been famous for its luxurious satins, brocades, and lacquer ware since the 13th century. Tourists can visit important historic relics and taste the delicious spicy Sichuan Cuisine.
Shenzhou graphics museum
The first and most professional national museum specializing in research, collection and exhibition of Graphic Art in China. With its thousands of collections, it is regarded as the largest museum in Graphics art in Asia.
Mr. DONG Xiaozhuang, the vice chairman of Chengdu Artist Consortium and a trustee of Exlibris research institute of China Artist Consortium, attended FISAE many times in recent years. Based on his efforts and collection, Xiaozhuang International Graphic (Exlibris) Collection Gallery is becoming one of the largest private graphic collections and the best exchanging and communicating platform of Exlibris in China.
There are old style streets and courtyard houses in these historical & cultural districts. They are not only the last relic of the city pattern of "thousand-year-old young city" and the one-hundred-year original architectural structure of old Chengdu, but also the only existing copy in southern China from the lane (Hutong) culture and architectural style of northern China.
Dating back to the Qin Dynasty (221BC-206BC), these ancient street in Chengdu, Sichuan Province, were in ancient times one of the busiest of commercial boulevards of the Kingdom of Shu, during the Three Kingdoms Period (220-280).
Sanxingdui site is an ancient city, ancient state and ancient Shu culture site in southwest of China, which is the largest in area, longest in time span and richest in cultural connotation. The Sanxingdui site was the capital of Shu state about over 3000 years ago, which is one of the largest and well-preserved known cities of the time in China.
The cultural relics at Sanxingdui are precious cultural heritage of mankind, and bespeak themselves as the most attractive ones amongst the multitude of the spectacular relics in China. Amongst the hoards of prize antiquities there are a variety of unique, grotesque bronzes, such as 2.62-meter-tall standing statue, 1.38-meter-wide bronze mask, 3.95-meter-high bronze tree, all of which stand out as treasures unparalleled. In addition, the gold ware represented by the gleaming gold scepter, and jade ware such as the blades with heavy motif, turn out to be undeniable rare jewels never seen before.
Giant Panda Base
The Giant Panda is one of the most famous animals in the world and indigenous only to China, which are listed as endangered species. With meek temperament, easy to be approached, round shape, cute action, white and black color, the Giant Panda is favored by most people in the world. Sichuan, the place you will come, is the hometown of Giant Panda.
