08.08.05... I just visited
www.e-flights.de a few days ago
and found a flight to go to Sofia
and back with Alitalia cheaper than
on the Alitalia web site... Planning
to fly to Geneva for the Nyon
Congress? Browse this site and
others on the web for cheap
flights! It seems that Easyjet will
fly to Sofia as from this autumn!
08.08.05... Are you coming with your
wife and child? Your wife must pay
EUR 150 as an accompanying person,
but children under 7 pay nothing and
between 7 and 15 pay 70 EUR to go to
the closing dinner and to the
excursion their parents get free if
they register before 23.08.05...
24.08.08... Just a year to go! You
might have seen on the news that
there were terrible floods which
have claimed lives in Switzerland in
the last few days... Central
Switzerland, Lucerne and Brienz in
particular, have had a very hard
time. Our FISAE president, Josef
Burch, who lives in that area, is
fortunately safe and sound...
In Western Switzerland, though
the weather has been variable, it
has not been so bad. Temperatures
are cool for the season (about 15oC
in the early morning and 25oC
in the afternoon - normally, they
should be about 3oC
more). To give you a better idea of
the weather, there are photos on the
links below from each day one year
earlier than the Nyon congress!

03.10.05...
Accomodation... I went
with Michel Froidevaux to Nyon last
Friday, and we visited the Civil
Protection facility where congress
participants can get a bed for 3
Euros per night (+ 1.5 Euros per
blanket!). OK, it is not a three-star
hotel, but not too terrible.
Please go to the page
here
and you will be able to see photos
and more information...
12.10.05... Many people have been
asking whether the traditional
exhibition of ex-libris created in
the last two years will be shown in
Nyon... the answer is
YES!
All artists who wish to send
ex-libris are welcome, and not only
those sent by the member societies
will be accepted. All techniques are
accepted except original drawings
and photocopies. Two prints of each
work submitted should be sent not
later than April 1st 2006 to B.
Junod for FISAE, 21 Route de Lullier,
CH-1254 Jussy GE, Switzerland. The
usual regulations as to size,
inscriptions by artists on the back,
etc. are the same as for the CGD
ex-libris competition. The selection
for the exhibition will be made by
the organising committee of the
congress. Three artists whose works
were considered the finest will be
offered a free excursion... if they
attend the congress!
25.11.05... Go and visit
http://www.fisae.org/nyonregistration.html
See why you must
register
now and pay before June 1st...
and we have instituted a
cheap
option for artists and
society committee members from the
new EU countries, Russia, Belarus,
Ukraine, China, Turkey and the Balkans...
24.06.06 ... Oh dear, less than two
months to go AND SO MUCH WORK STILL
TO DO!!!
Go and take a look at the programme
update... The Congress publications
are going to be FANTASTIC!!! Just
the catalogue of Japanese bookplates,
totally trilingual, will be 200
pages... The Rabinovitch book will
be a reference volume... But the
others will also be really good
because we have obtained sponsorship
from several foundations and firms
which will help us to see that the
'bag' will be unforgettable...
